Binaries are executable files for the user to run, mostly located in /bin these can come from several packages, here is a list from the minux related binaries

cat - print a file on the screen
config - edit system configuration
edit - text editor
halt - shuts down the system properly
less - view a text file, comfortably
login - used to log in or change user
